Now Vladislav Bezborodov was on a par with them, scoring five penalties and showing three red cards to the players in the match between Akhmat and CSKA.
According to the RFU, Bezborodov received the best average rating for his work last season among all the judges of our championship. Who would have thought that the first really high-profile scandal related to the work of referees would be with his participation, and even in the second round? Craziness.
Let’s start with non-obvious moments, where everyone can have different points of view: the second and third penalties turned out to be very controversial. In both cases, the touch on the part of the defenders was minimal, as they say, they “patted” the attacker’s leg. But here at least there are adequate arguments on each side, but what began next can only be explained by the fact that the judge simply “floated”. Although such an experienced referee seemed to have to handle the situation.

How is it possible to change the decision on the card (in terms of the severity of the infraction) after the episode has been played? Even if there were problems with communication with the referees in VAR, then it was necessary to stop the game, wait for the equipment to be repaired, or continue playing, knowing that all decisions at that moment would be at the discretion. of the referee without the possibility of reviewing the episodes a posteriori, as was eventually done.
In the end, well, could Bezborodov not know that it was impossible to watch a video replay of the yellow/red card issue after Igor Akinfeev’s penalty was disallowed? And even more so for this, he repeats the blow from the tip. And if the most experienced referees make such gross mistakes, what can be said about the general level of refereeing in Russia? The funny thing is that it was even quite possible to overcome the 11-meter kick – in the replay it is clearly seen that Konstantin Kuchaev ran into the penalty area before the kick. But in the end, the referee chose the wrong reason for this, since he gave the order to repeat everything that happened after the wrong yellow card (as it seemed to the referee after the video replay).

After the match, Bezborodov got into another unpleasant story with the answer to a journalist’s question: “Are you deaf?” But the context is important here: Vladislav unequivocally refused the first request to comment on the game, but the correspondent did not seem to notice this and continued to ask questions anyway, to which the excited referee (this is not surprising, given everything what happened). ) responded more harshly. In general, in this situation, both turned out to be “good”.
In a good way, it would not hurt to learn from the experience of other sports, where the referees explain their decision or at least express it into the microphone during the match. And do not say that this is the prerogative of only North America, in the KHL, for example, it has been used quite successfully for more than one season. And in our football, where legal scandals are through the roof, this approach makes much more sense.
It only turns out that now everyone is stunned by five penalties and three eliminations, although all this could only be a series of controversial episodes. But a flagrantly serious error with the interaction with the VAR and subsequent actions calls into question the professionalism and banal knowledge of the rules of the game of all the judges in the RPL.
