SKA made an official statement regarding refereeing in the playoffs
The SKA hockey club published a statement from the president of the board of directors, Alexander Medvedev, in which he spoke about refereeing in the playoffs.
“Working in the KHL, SKA and Zenit in football and basketball, I did not consider it possible or appropriate to comment on the refereeing or to blame the referees for the defeats and failures of the tournament. But missing two obvious fouls on Ertel and Hunter in Zenit’s last attack in the recent match against UNICS and the flagrant expulsion of our goalkeeper Serebryakov in yesterday’s match against Avtomobilist filled the cup of patience.
As for the judges, yesterday we saw something that has been happening all season. The playoffs, including the fifth game of the series against Avtomobilist, only confirmed this. Well, how could they send off Serebryakov, who played the puck clearly?
And the moment at the end when the album is delayed? More than 20 thousand people in the arena saw what was happening. This is simply nonsense.
In the last game in St. Petersburg, the entire hockey community was shocked by the dismissal of Gritsyuk, but this is just one of the many episodes that happened in this series.

The famous referee analyzed the controversial episodes of the decisive match of the SKA series – Avtomobilist
The club has faced similar questionable refereeing decisions throughout the season. In the playoffs, SKA has by far the most two-minute penalties.
The best shooting team in the league with the most offensive style of play, but with the most penalties. And so, from the first game. There is no other way to explain this than bias.
The injuries our team also suffered don’t come out of nowhere, they are very often due to uncalled fouls or stray dirt. All this comes from permissiveness, it is necessary to strictly suppress such moments so that for every violation there is a punishment, then hockey will be cleaner.
I think all referees need to look in the mirror and change the way they work; With a couple of decisions of this type, months of work of dozens of people can be wasted. The canceled albums, the strange deletions are incomprehensible – all this has been happening for a long time and no one is taking responsibility. Therefore, Chatsky’s question from “Woe from Wit” “Who are the judges?” “It is far from rhetorical, but it requires a response,” Medvedev is quoted as saying by the club’s press service.
“He doesn’t understand anything about refereeing.” Famous referee criticized SKA’s statement about the referee
International referee Alexander Zaitsev spoke about the statements of the SKA hockey club about partial refereeing in matches with Avtomobilist.
“SKA statement? Medvedev doesn’t understand anything about refereeing. Strange. When he himself was still president of the KHL, he never said anything about the judges. There had to be a lot at stake on this team.
Yes, this season the judges made a lot of mistakes and of course there are several complaints against them. Everything clear. Perhaps the human factor, inexperience, everything influences. But talking about this series… no, guys. I can’t tell you that the expressions he made are correct. If they look for it in strangers, let them look at themselves.

“We need to go out and play.” KHL vice president responded to SKA’s criticism of refereeing
It is up to professionals to speak and make some claims, that is, to the judiciary. Let everyone mind their own business. I understand it if the goal had not been counted, but criticizing things like that… I assure you, the referees did a good job! That’s for sure,” Zaitsev said in a conversation with “Championship” correspondent Vladimir Laevsky.

Recall that this season Severstal played for the first time under the direction of coach Andrei Kozyrev. Previously, the specialist was a member of the Torpedo coaching staff and was never the head coach of a KHL club. Cherepovets lost to Spartak in five games in the first round of the playoffs.

“I wouldn’t include the word ‘unexpected’. Vyacheslav Bykov commented on SKA’s relegation
Former coach of the Russian national team and SKA, Vyacheslav Bykov, commented on SKA’s elimination from the Gagarin Cup. The St. Petersburg club lost to Avtomobilist in five games in the second round of the playoffs.
“SKA unexpectedly left Avtomobilist? He wouldn’t include the word “unexpectedly.” It is the merit of Avtomobilist that it was able to seriously prepare for this stage of the competition – the playoffs. We approach these competitions with very serious ambitions and quality of play.

Bykov: I read a lot; someone is starting to blame the judges. But these are frivolous excuses.
SKA has a young team, they may lack some experience. I think that in any competition you have to give credit to the winner, who managed to triumph in such a tense fight. I have read a lot that SKA has a very young, promising and very talented team. They work seriously there, with a serious coaching staff. But I want to say it once again: I pay tribute to my compatriots from the Urals, the motoring actors who knew how to advance further and showed their ambitions. Apparently, the preparation of the automobilist team was at a high level, which is confirmed by the result,” Bykov said in conversation with the championship correspondent, Vladimir Laevsky.
Spartak dryly beat Metallurg in the fourth game and tied the series
The fourth match of the series between Spartak and Metallurg ended in Moscow at the Megasport stadium. The rojiblancos won this match 1:0. Thanks to this victory, Spartak tied the series 2-2.
The teams could not open the score for a long time in the match. Two periods ended scoreless. Only in the 49th minute of the match did Spartak forward Ansel Galimov open the scoring with a pass from Daniil Ivanov, throwing the puck into the already empty corner of the goal. After the goal, the game opened up and chances began to arise regularly in both goals. Metallurg was unable to convert most in the second half of the third period. Magnitogorsk finished the match in the minority and could not make the final assault on the goal.
The fifth match of the series will be played on March 28 in Magnitogorsk.

Razin on the KHL’s decision to transfer: why did we bust our asses and take first place?
Metallurg Magnitogorsk coach Andrei Razin criticized the KHL’s decision to postpone the match for several days. Before the fourth match of the series against Spartak, the Metallurg team flew to Magnitogorsk and back to Moscow. The fourth game of the series ended with a 1-0 victory for the red and whites. The series score is 2-2.
“Was it necessary to return to Magnitogorsk after the KHL’s decision to move the fourth game of the series to another date? He hoped this question wouldn’t come up. But, we can talk. The match on the 23rd is cancelled. Why should we live in Moscow when we are kicked out of Megasport, there are no places in the hotel where we lived, it is not clear where we will skate and we urgently have to look for ice?
Although we had a great offer, to play on the 25th in Magnitogorsk and on the 27th in Moscow, nothing would have changed. Since we got first place in the East, we would play three games at home and two away. And the score of the series was 2-1, and in any case it was clear that three here and two here.
Why do we rank first in the East? Why do we bust our asses? So this decision would be in favor of Spartak? Although I don’t think it was in favor of Spartak. It is simply to the detriment of the Metallurg team,” championship correspondent Sergei Emelyanov reports on Razin’s words.
