The Russian Sports Ministry responded to the question of whether Russian athletes will receive financial rewards for medals won at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has not yet made a decision on the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus.
“The IOC has determined the status of neutral athletes who perform, they must renounce everything. If he leaves, then we must take away the athlete’s salary, take away his equipment and then the IOC will bear all the expenses. If someone wins medals there, this issue will probably be considered separately, taking into account all the changes. It is not clear what else they will give them to sign,” RIA Novosti quotes the words of Russian Deputy Sports Minister Azat Kadyrov.
The IOC in its recommendations clarified that Russian athletes should not be allowed to participate in team competitions, even in a neutral state.
