On Saturday, August 5, four games of the 3rd day of the RPL were played. They turned out to be very effective – the fans saw three defeats and 18 goals. We talk about the main events of the day in the Russian championship.

The game of “Wings of the Soviets” and “Rostov” ended sensationally with a heavy defeat for Valery Karpin’s team. And the main character of this meeting was the 18-year-old winger from the hosts Saltykov, who played only the second match in the RPL and the first in the base. Nikita completed a double in 25 minutes.
First, Saltykov scored the second goal for the hosts, who in the end were victorious. He opened in the penalty area in a semicircle and, having received the pass, went into shock position by a sudden movement when receiving the ball. After that, he hit right into the corner.
Saltykov scored the second goal after a free kick. Garre sent the ball to the right place, and Nikita took advantage of the unsuccessful positional game of Chernov and Glebov. No one could prevent the winger from striking from the goalkeeper line.
Saltykov is the youngest RPL player of the 21st century, having scored a brace in his debut game as a starter.

Early expulsion of Mansilla for harsh lack of martial arts
Jiri Yaroshik has had a disappointing start in Orenburg with three losses (including the Russian Cup match) and one draw. Until now, it has not been possible to win even at home, where the team did very well last season under the leadership of Marcel Lichka. In this round, Orenburg lost at home to Ural. The key episode of the game is the elimination of Mansilla.

Medina scored with a second touch after his Spartak debut
Spartak proves that this season they will definitely be a real contender for RPL gold. Three games, three wins. Guillermo Abascal’s team is still not the leader alone, but only Krasnodar added nine points, in addition to the rojiblancos.
Newcomer Medina made a brilliant debut for Spartak. The former CSKA midfielder came on as a substitute at the end of the hour with the score 1:1. And he scored on a second touch! In Rubin’s penalty area, the Paraguayan gained position from his keeper Kabutov, and after Denisov’s cross, he hit him right on the head.
Medina also intervened in the episode of the rojiblancos’ third goal. Jesús made an impressive run down the middle from the bottom of the Rubin penalty area and took out the opposing defender. Free space was formed, which Ignatov used. A great start to a career at Spartak! By the way, another newcomer to Abascal’s team, the winger Bongonda, was seen again. He also scored. Now Theo has two goals in the RPL and one in the Russian Cup.
An interesting fact: Spartak started the RPL season with three wins in a row for the first time since the 2013/2014 season.

Mukhin scored a brace against his former team – CSKA defeated Loko
Derby CSKA – Lokomotiv ended in a way that probably nobody expected. Even after 25 minutes of the game, it was impossible to assume that Mikhail Galaktionov’s team would lose a lot to the army team. The railwaymen looked more beautiful in terms of the game, they created scoring chances. For example, Dziuba did not hit the empty goal at all from a few meters. But two goals conceded in two minutes knocked Loko down.
The railwaymen were eventually finished off by their former midfielder Mukhin. After CSKA coach Vladimir Fedotov turned the defensive midfielder into an insider, Maxim’s gift as a goalscorer appears. In the 55th minute he made it 3-0 on the scoreboard taking advantage of a mistake by Mitai. The Albanian brought the ball straight to Mukhin’s leg.
Nine minutes later, Mukhin scored a brace. Mitai also made a mistake here: he lost the match against the CSKA experts. Maksim played very well before the game, scoring with his head.
Two goals – a personal record for Mukhin. Previously in his entire RPL career, he had scored just once. And for CSKA this victory in the derby was the 500th in the Russian championships.
