The 42-year-old parachutist did not fight for almost a year and a half: his last fight took place according to boxing rules, where Kharitonov easily beat Malik Scott, Deontay Wilder’s trainer. Sergey hasn’t entered the Octagon at all since January 2022, when he knocked out experienced karateka Tyrone Sprong with a hard style. On September 23, the Russian fighter will fight in the MMA Series promotional tournament. Sergei’s rival will be the Brazilian Thiago Cardos, who, to put it mildly, fights very often. Russian promoters really liked Cardoza: in the last six months, Thiago has had seven fights with us! On the other hand, Sergey is already at a considerable sports age, why should he take risks? He earned the right to end his career, making money fighting baggy or very old guys.
