Russian athlete Alexander Hutte was sentenced to two years in prison in a penal colony, reports the press service of the St. Petersburg courts.
The regional GUMVD accused Hytte of beating a man in May 2022, for which the court convicted him under art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberately inflicting serious bodily harm), the athlete must also pay 40,221 rubles for material damage and 450 thousand for compensation for moral damage to the victim.
The defendant partially admitted his guilt.
Hütte is European champion in the team competition in Stockholm (2011), silver medalist in Braunschweig (2014) and four times Russian sprint champion (2010 – 2013).
We add that in 2015 the athlete was suspended from the competition for doping and test evasion. After the disqualification, Hütte became an informant for the International Association of Athletics Federations. In 2021, he was arrested with drugs.
