UFC 307 will take place on the night of October 5-6, with undefeated Russian featherweight Movsar Evloev taking part in the fight. He will have to share the cage with former bantamweight champion and Petr Yan abuser Aljamain Sterling.
Sterling began to actively engage in trash talk before the fight; Aljo decided to pay special attention to the accusations against Movsar: Evloev allegedly uses doping.
“I am 100% sure that you, Movsar, were sitting on something and you are still sitting on it. You talk too much, which only confirms my information. But that’s okay. When you realize that this is not enough to defeat me, you will wonder for the rest of your life if it was worth it and why you tried to do this,” Sterling wrote on social media.
A rather bold and at the same time strange claim. It’s strange because Evloev has never been involved in doping scandals before. Sterling later explained his accusations, but that only made the former UFC champion look even more stupid.
More information on the fight between Sterling and Evloev:
Evloev will fight the aggressor Peter Yan. They don’t want to let the Russian into the title race
“There are rumors that he’s an unclean athlete. People can say what they want, there’s no proof, but the same thing was said about TJ Dillashaw, Cody Garbrandt said it at a press conference. These conversations are not much different than what I hear about Movsar. There’s no smoke without fire. Do I have proof? Did I see this guy shoot himself in the ass? No,” Sterling said in an interview with Home of Fight.
Aljamain’s genius simply knows no bounds. Apparently, Sterling communicates too much with his friend Merab Dvalishvili, from whose lips such statements would not be surprising. It is clear that in order to promote the fight, to try to throw the enemy off balance psychologically, all methods are good, but this attempt by Sterling seems too ridiculous. A special smile was caused by the moment when, after all these accusations, anti-doping officers showed up at Aljo’s house. Coincidence?

Movsar, apparently, was not at all impressed by Sterling’s attacks. Evloev promised to punish the offender in the cage.
“Where I come from, you can’t get away with false accusations like that. But I will be a businessman, punish you and get money for it. Just don’t pay it back,” Movsar wrote on his social media page.
Evloev is far from the first Russian to receive such accusations. Islam Makhachev was also attacked; in 2016, he was caught using meldonium, although he was acquitted because he stopped taking it after the drug was included in the list of banned substances. After this, Makhachev received special attention from USADA; in 2023, Islam became the most tested fighter in the league, and all tests came back clean. Well, you also heard about accusations of Dan Hooker and Makhachev of cheating with IVs, and Hooker could not prove this either.
Khabib’s team was also accused of doping:
“Hypocrites of the highest order.” Is McGregor rightly blaming Khabib’s team?
In November 2023, it became known that Khabib Nurmagomedov’s brother, Usman Nurmagomedov, had tested positive for doping. The situation was resolved – Usman took a banned drug according to a doctor’s prescription, but did not write it down in his doping diary. Nurmagomedov was not punished – he retained the Bellator championship belt and will soon fight Alexander Shabliy, but this whole situation, of course, negatively affected Usman’s reputation, and not only that. Conor McGregor immediately seized the moment and immediately accused Khabib’s entire team.
“I was not at all surprised to hear that a member of Nurmagomedov’s team tested positive for steroids. Hypocrites of the highest order,” Conor wrote.
However, all these accusations, all attempts to anger the Russian fighters, were unsuccessful. These tricks do not work on any of them, and no one has provided any direct, concrete evidence of doping by Russian fighters. Sterling follows the same path as the others: he has no evidence, but he knows “something”. But this “knowledge” is unlikely to help in battle: he failed to touch Movsar.
