The Russian Premier League named Zenit striker Malcom as the best player of the season. In voting by coaches and team captains, league legends and Match Premier TV pundits, he was ahead of nine other contenders.
Quincy Promes, Alexander Sobolev (both Spartak), Fedor Chalov, Igor Akinfeev, Ivan Oblyakov (all CSKA), Malkom (Zenit), Vladimir Pisarsky (Orenburg/Wings of the Soviets), Artyom Dziuba (Lokomotiv), Eduard Spertsyan (Krasnodar) , Lukas Vera (Orenburg).
Malcolm played 27 RPL games for Zenit last season and scored 23 goals.
In the full season, Zenit was proclaimed champion of Russia for the fifth consecutive year.
