“Torpedo” remains invincible, “Spartak” drags a miraculous bond. Results of the day in the KHL

“Salavat” won the first “green derby” of the season, “Metallurg” won for the first time at home.
Seven KHL regular season games were played on September 14. Let’s summarize them.
Last season, “Admiral” was one of the most uncomfortable opponents of the Omsk club; Nikita Serebryakov did wonders in the clash with the Omsk stars. Now the most valuable player of the “sailors” had a break and the “hawks”, clearly angry about the slap from the “Amur”, took a 2-0 lead. It is curious that Mikhail Belyaev, who made his debut for Avangard, scored a double, but last year he was unsuccessfully on loan in Vladivostok. However, the Admiral’s attack managed to turn the 0-2 into 3-2, and at the end of the match the hosts were defeated by their main stars: Tkachev sent the match to extra time and Boucher put an end to it.

Traktor lost Vitaly Kravtsov due to another injury and returned Nikita Tertyshny to the lineup, who is going through a difficult period in his career. After the previous matches, the Chelyabinsk team received a lot of criticism and in the middle of the match they led 3-0: the first goals of the new club were scored by newcomers Viktor Antipin and Vladimir Zharkov. However, in the season debut, Traktor failed completely in the third period and at the end of regulation time the Minsk team pulled two goals back, creating a nervy ending.

Only forty seconds after the start of the match, Avtomobilist did what it could not do for 60 minutes in its rival’s last match: it scored: Sergei Shirokov, who had a difficult start to the season, scored from a throw-in left circle. The match in Yekaterinburg turned out to be much more fun than the duel in Nizhnekamsk, both in terms of the result and the number of opportunities created by the teams. The hosts performed better: the first double in the KHL was scored by Vladimir Kuznetsov, who played the first game of the season.

Andrei Razin finally arrived in Magnitogorsk and the calendar gifted him a match with the coach’s hometown team. In the preseason, Lada came back from 1-4 down and won the match, and now the tough player from Togliatti almost repeated the trick. Magnitogorsk was leading 2:0 and seemed to have an overwhelming lead, but the guests equalized the score. A particularly nice goal was scored by Troy Josephs, who scored from an almost unimaginable position. However, in overtime Makar Khabarov gave Metallurg its fifth consecutive victory.

All tickets for the first “green derby” of the season were sold out long before the game. However, the beginning of the match did not please the home fans very much: less than four minutes after the start, the guests were able to open Alexander Samonov’s goal, and soon Galiev’s puck doubled the score. The elimination of the guests helped turn the match for SY: former Ak Bars player Vyacheslav Leshchenko, who at some point did not remain in the team, scored a double. In the end, Ivan Drozdov, known for his passing, beat several rivals near the other goal and scored a beautiful winning goal.

Kunlun’s charming start is largely explained by the excellent play of their goalkeeping duo Smith and Jurasik. Today, formally, the second goalkeeper of the Chinese club was excellent for 40 minutes in Nizhny Novgorod, stopping the offensive impulses of Larionov’s guys. However, the guests collapsed in the third period: Torpedo scored on the power play and in the minority in the first period, and then everything went like clockwork. Maxim Letunov scored a hat-trick, 17-year-old Nikita Artamonov scored another point.

“Vityaz” is perhaps the saddest team at the beginning of the championship. In 60 minutes, the Balashikha Club’s attack conceded only 11 shots to the opposing goal, but Spartak, who recently played a sensational game in St. Petersburg, continued to dominate on the ice. Two goals in the match were scored by the Goldobin – Morozov – Poryadin team, who have already scored 25 points between the three this season; Goldobin already has seven goals this season.
