Traktor won the third game of the series against Dynamo and put the blue and white team on the verge of relegation
In Chelyabinsk, at the Arena-Traktor named after Valery Belousov, the third match of the quarterfinal series of the Gagarin Cup 2024 was played between “Traktor” from Chelyabinsk and “Dynamo” from the capital. The desperate assault on Dynamo’s goal ultimately yielded no results.

Thus, Dynamo was one step away from being eliminated from the playoffs. The fourth match of the series will be played on March 22 in Chelyabinsk.

“Before the series against Dynamo, the opponent was criticized for playing in the power play, but now they score in every game: is it their merit or our defect? Let’s do everything in order. In no case can I say anything bad about Traktor, because you yourself know what kind of interpreters there are. At the beginning of the season, his team was selected for the championship, and this is not a secret to anyone. The boys have experience and skill, they know how to play and achieve results. And the fact that before the playoffs we got excited and became a team is completely normal. Adult teams do this frequently. There are artists there, so there is nothing surprising about this.
But if they do, we’ll let them do it anyway. We are not playing as well as we would like. We do it again and again, we cannot say that they are mistakes, but some kind of incorrect and unconscious action. Then we began to look at everything, analyze it and understand why we played like this, even though we planned everything differently. Therefore, somehow everything is going logically and smoothly in this series. Everything is going well, but a little not in our favor,” said Dynamo coach Alexey Kudashov.
Boucher’s goal in extra time helped Avangard claim its first win in the series against Lokomotiv
In Yaroslavl, at the Arena-2000-Lokomotiv stadium, the third match of the Gagarin Cup quarterfinals between Lokomotiv and Avangard took place. The Omsk team won the close match in extra time 2:1.
In the 10th minute of the game, Avangard defender Semyon Chistyakov opened the scoring during a power play off a pass from Damir Zhafyarov. Yaroslavl managed to tie the score at the end of the first half. The goal was scored primarily by Lokomotiv forward Stepan Nikulin, assisted by Rushan Rafikov and Denis Alekseev. Subsequently, the teams tried to play strictly defensively, and the match was developed with the hosts having the advantage at times, shots on goal and play in the attacking zone. The main half of the match ended in a draw and the victory was achieved by the Omsk team with a shot by Reed Boucher.
