Arman Tsarukyan is one of the brightest lightweights in the UFC. He is progressing rapidly and is ranked eighth in his division. And most importantly, the fighter is eager to take revenge on the Russian champion Islam Makhachev. But as of now, the UFC does not want to promote Arman in any way. First it was achieved by the Brazilian Renato Moicano. He only ranks 13th in the lightweight rankings. However, the fight failed, and the status of the new opponent is even lower.
On the night of June 17-18, Tsarukyan will fight another representative of Brazil, Joaquim Silva. He’s not in the top 15 lightweights at all. The fighter entered the UFC in 2015, but since then he managed to spend only eight fights. The Brazilian started happy and even sent three victories in a row to his piggy bank. But in the last five fights, there were three losses at once. And twice Silva flew into a deaf knockout. It’s still hard to even imagine that Joaquim could hold anything against the overmotivated Arman.

Tsarukyan hasn’t fought since December of last year, when he faced Damir Ismagulov. It is curious that Arman managed to sustain the same eight fights since his debut in the UFC, which occurred in 2019. And the fighter’s record is more significant: 6-2. And most importantly, Tsarukyan lost only to the best. Moreover, Arman lost to Makhachev only by decision, albeit unanimously. And the verdict of the referee for the fight with Mateusz Gamrot still causes fierce controversy.

Now Tsarukyan will fight again in Las Vegas, but with Silva. And while all of this makes it sound like the UFC isn’t going to promote Arman and throw him at the first opponent he comes across. And this is the attitude towards the guy who took bonuses three times and always gets brilliant fights. In this situation, Tsarukyan can only endure and do his job diligently.
Armand needs to beat the Brazilian and take matters into his own hands. It is necessary to roll up a brilliant show, and then challenge directly in the octagon. Maybe at least this way the UFC bosses will listen to a talented guy and give him a really tough opponent. Otherwise, Tsarukyan risks sitting firmly on a “bag” diet, losing the best time of his career.
