American mixed martial arts fighter, former UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has discussed who current division champion Islam Makhachev should fight.
“Grading is done for a reason. They may not be as honest as we think, but Poirier is second, I am third, and in another fight, number one Charles Oliveira and number four Beneil Dariush will fight. A champion has to fight someone. If Dariush wins there, then he should fight Makhachev, and the next in line will be the one to win our fight with Poirier. If Oliveira wins, then one of us with Dustin should go to Abu Dhabi,” Gati said in an interview with Daniel Cormier.

“What surprised me in the fight between Oliveira and Makhachev was the distance control. I thought Charles would do a better job of it, but he didn’t. He tried to press and drive, which created holes in the defense. Even with takedowns, it was like that, he really wanted to transfer Makhachev, and as a result, he got caught up in the oncoming move.
