However, scientists believe that this product can be not only useful, but also harmful to the body.

What are the positive properties of honey?

2. Positively affects the state of the urinary system. Due to this, honey is successfully used to treat the kidneys and bladder.

3. Helps in the fight against viral diseases. It has anti-inflammatory properties. It is often added to the main treatment in the fight against colds.

4. Favorably affects the nervous system, is sedative and slightly hypnotic. Honey acts as an aid in the fight against neuroses, and also reduces the severity of stress, favorably affecting the body in the fight against insomnia.

5. Affects the increase in immunity. The product is useful for chronic fatigue of the body, effective in the fight against anemia (anemia).

Possessing a large number of positive properties, honey can harm the body. Therefore, before using it, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

The negative properties of the product include

1. Replacing sweets with honey, many people often hope to lose weight. However, scientists have calculated that 100 g of honey contains 35.75 g of glucose and 40.95 g of fructose, which is 75% of its composition. Depending on the type of product in the same volume of the product – 300-450 kcal. Therefore, it is important to remember that this is not an alternative to sugary foods.

2. It is not recommended to heat honey above 40°C, otherwise, under the influence of temperatures, harmful substances can be formed that can provoke the development of oncological diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, it is not recommended to add the product to hot tea or coffee.

3. There is a risk of developing diabetes because honey has a high concentration of sugar, which causes an increase in blood glucose levels. Therefore, they should not be abused.

4. It is not recommended to consume honey on an empty stomach, as this can lead to loss of strength and obesity. Initially, the level of glucose in the blood rises, but then drops sharply, disrupting the metabolism.

Who should not eat honey

The product is contraindicated in:

diseases of the pancreas, children under two years of age, allergies, diabetes mellitus, ulcerative lesions and gastritis during the period of exacerbation.

The permissible rate of consumption of honey for an adult is two tablespoons per day.
