“Wings of the Soviets” bypassed “Spartak” and CSKA! Crazy outcome of the match in Samara

Ignashevich has five losses in six matches in the RPL.
Krylya Sovetov defeated Baltika at home and shares fourth place with Dynamo in points scored. Samartsev bypassed CSKA and Spartak.
Krylya Sovetov, after five rounds of the RPL, was the most productive team in the championship together with Spartak and CSKA – they scored 12 goals. But in the match against Baltika, Samartsev’s coach Igor Osinkin relied on a reliable defense, and not a speedy attack. The hosts unexpectedly changed the tactical scheme, moving to a game with three central defenders. Also, in the 5-4-1 system, one of the midfielders was Costanza, who we are used to seeing in midfield. The Brazilian, in fact, replaced the injured Argentine Garré. Either personnel problems forced Osinkin to “change himself”, or the desire to adapt to the Baltika using the three-central model.
Sergei Ignashevich’s team, despite being a rookie in the RPL and a guest of Samara, had more possession of the ball and faced the rival higher up. However, both teams did not create anything in the game and the tension arose mainly after set pieces. There were not enough speeds, the marriage was destroyed by potentially dangerous attacks. Perhaps the most interesting was the moment of the fall in the area of the “KC” of the captain of the “Baltic” Kazaev after a duel with Babkin. There was a touch, but there was no foul. At least that’s how judge Ivanov decided. A difficult episode for the referees.
Fun facts from the first rounds of the Russian Championship:
Staggering stats at the start of the RPL. 8 facts
The only shot on goal before the break was made by Baltika. This was done by Kazaev himself. For the rest, from the point of view of attack actions, everything was sad. During the entire first half, Kaliningrados made seven touches in the Samara area and KS five in the Baltika area. The hosts’ promising center forward Karpitsky from Belarus, being a free kick player, failed to find the ball in the opponent’s goal. It is impossible to score without good passes and the locals have not made a single accurate cross.
The second half started faster. Baltika again tried to crush, but in the 52nd minute they ran into a counterattack and conceded. The “KS” counterattack occurred due to a mistake by the left-back Fernandez, who lost the duel with Saltykov and lost the ball. The young player of the locals flew into the Baltika box, made the first pass without success, but on the second attempt he became the author of an assist to Babkin. As for Fernández, the Bolivian newcomer from Kaliningrad, who has promised to become the RPL fly-half, remains disappointing. This is the fourth time in six games that the team has conceded after his mistake.
Babkin’s goal was the first shot on goal in Wings of the Soviets. A quarter of an hour later, the scorer, having sustained damage, left the field. Osinkin’s team, already without Babkin and Karpitsky, who was substituted at the break, defended a minimal advantage, getting deep into their own area. Baltika opened up more and more and left free spaces in his half of the field. In the 80th minute, Kaliningraders again claimed a penalty kick: the fresh Musaev, throwing the ball between Soldatenkov and Rasskazov, fell into the box. But it was like diving.
But in the 89th minute, Musaev seemed to save Baltika. In the end, the “Soviet wings” fully pressed against the goal, and Vitiugov could not block the cross from the left half due to injury. This was seen in the movement of the “KS” player, who grabbed his leg after Lazarev’s serve. Musaev beat Barach through the air and scored his second goal in the RPL.
However, it was not the end yet! The crazy ending made me forget how boring the match with the score 0:0 was. Samarans covered Lazarev with pressure and made a quick attack, which was completed by Zotov. The defender of “Baltika” Dudiev somehow strangely dodged the ball.
So Baltika lost the fifth of six matches in the RPL under the leadership of Ignashevich.
