Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion in the bantamweight division, Petr Yan, recalled wanting to have a rematch with new promotional belt holder Sean O’Malley.
“Our revenge must take place sooner or later,” said the Russian fighter in a message posted on social media.
O’Malley defeated Aljamain Sterling in the second round last night to become the new UFC Bantamweight Champion.
Yang and O’Malley fought in October 2022, with the American then earning a controversial split decision victory.
