A theater in Moscow has launched an event series dedicated to famous contemporaries. The series kicked off with the evening for photographer, journalist, and writer Yuri Rost. TASS reports.

On Rost’s birthday, he was on stage at the theater congratulating his colleagues and friends on their work. He shared memories from his past, talking about people from his reports—among them were many well-known cultural figures. The Sovremennik lobby had beautiful portrait art of people by the photographer Marina Neelova, Alisa Freindlikh, Alexander Shirvindt, Galina Volchek, and others.

“A great provocateur, able to creatively explore unusual perspectives and change the way we see the world. His attention to personal connection and timeless innovation endlessly captivates and surprises,” says Viktor Ryzhakov, artistic director of the theater.

Earlier, Sovremennik announced the opening of his own Colosseum film club. The goal is to create a space where people can share their thoughts and stylistic insights with one another.
