His determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in the police units of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, receive the highest marks.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counter-offensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise. The military is sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.

FIRST PARTICIPATION IN A BATTLE WITH SAIVERERS

“Private Dmitry Pilikhovsky was part of the combat patrol, patrolling the defensive positions of the Russian troops. During the patrol, Dmitry noticed the covert movement of an enemy reconnaissance and sabotage group in the direction of our troops. Pilikhovsky immediately informed the command about the discovery of the enemy, after which, having taken an advantageous position, he entered into battle with the enemy DRG. During the battle, he personally destroyed the enemy’s car with the militants in it. Having received a shrapnel wound in the leg, without leaving the battlefield, Pilikhovsky continued to repel the attack of the nationalists. The enemy group was destroyed. After the end of the battle, the necessary medical assistance was provided to Private Pilikhovskiy and his evacuation to a safe area was arranged.
HE LEFT THE ENEMY AT THE STARTING LINE
Junior Sergeant Kirill Tatarenko
“Squad leader Junior Sergeant Kirill Tatarenko, as part of a battalion tactical group of Russian troops, carried out a combat mission to defend a strategically important settlement. In order to recapture previously lost positions, the enemy, after artillery preparation, with the support of armored vehicles, went on the offensive. Tatarenko took up the defense as part of the unit and entered the battle. During the battle, Kirill personally destroyed an enemy infantry fighting vehicle with a crew with an accurate shot from a hand grenade launcher. Changing the firing position as a result of mortar shelling, Tatarenko received shrapnel wounds, but despite this, having given himself first aid, he continued to fight. Having suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment, the enemy withdrew. Thanks to the personal courage and dedication of Junior Sergeant Kirill Tatarenko, it was possible to contain the enemy’s offensive and force it back to its original lines.

DELIVERED AN UNEXPECTED IMPACT TO THE ENEMY

“In the course of repelling the enemy’s offensive, reinforced by armored vehicles, there was a threat of a breakthrough in defense on the line held by the unit, which included private Nikolai Lychko. Quickly assessing the situation, Nikolai secretly moved to the flank of the advancing enemy. Having waited for the armored vehicles to approach the confident line of defeat of standard anti-tank weapons, Lychko set two armored vehicles on fire with several accurate shots. The enemy infantry, having lost the support of armored vehicles and under heavy fire from Nikolai’s squad, hastily retreated. Thanks to the confident and competent actions of the soldier Nikolai Lychko, the enemy suffered significant losses, and the lines of defense that they had were not broken. As a result of the tank shelling, he received a shrapnel wound. Despite this, he continued to fight and only after repelling the attack was he evacuated to a safe area.
