Jabir defeated opponent from Belarus Arina Sobolenko in the semifinals. The match ended with the result 6:7 (5:7), 6:4, 6:3. Vondrousova, in turn, defeated the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina with a score of 6:3, 6:3. The Wimbledon decider will be played on Saturday, July 15.
For Vondrousova, this will be the first Wimbledon final of her career. Previously, the Czech reached the final of another Grand Slam tournament – the 2019 French Open. Jabir also played in two final matches of Grand Slam tournaments. In 2022, the Tunisian tennis player played the Wimbledon final, as well as the US Open final. Currently, Jabir is listed as the sixth racket in the world, according to the WTA ranking. Vondrousova is on the 42nd line of the ranking.
Earlier, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev reached the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time. In the quarterfinal match he defeated American Christopher Eubanks.
