Sovremennik’s performances, scheduled for July 10 and 11, had to be canceled because of the public’s favorite Marina Neelova. At the same time, rumors spread on the Web that the 76-year-old actress fell seriously ill, even she had to be urgently hospitalized. The Telegram channels wrote that the actress went to the doctors because of abdominal pain so strong that it was impossible for her to hold out until the end of the season and then go for an examination. It was as if the doctors discovered that she had a systemic inflammatory process, gastritis and colitis.
Therefore, performances with her participation were canceled. True, the director of Sovremennik, Yuri Kravets, immediately spoke out, denying the rumors about Neyolova’s hospitalization: “Marina Neyolova is at home and she feels fine,” he assured.
