More support for the country’s green path. The Spanish Government has launched a new call for aid for the innovative value chain and knowledge of renewable hydrogen with an endowment of 66.6 million euros. This has been confirmed by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, who say that the aid is added to the 40 million of the first call for the incentive program of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) Next Generation EU.
Attached to the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of Renewable Energies, Renewable Hydrogen and Storage (PERTE ERHA), they seek to promote the development of basic-fundamental research projects, innovative pilots and training in enabled technologies within the value chain of renewable hydrogen, updated the Ministry.
The granting of aid will be conditional on the implementation in Spain of the developments, with a minimum investment of 500,000 euros per project. The deadline for submitting applications will improve open from September 8 to November 7, 2023 and job creation.
Companies and business associations may be the object of aid; consortia and business groups with at least one participating SME; the institutional public sector; private law entities linked to or dependent on Public Administrations and Universities; and technological centers, as well as state-wide technological innovation support centers.
Aid criteria
Likewise, in the winning criteria, the reduction of emissions, the participation of SMEs and the impact in Just Transition areas will prevail. The beneficiaries will have a maximum period of 36 months to carry out the actions from the date of notification of the final resolution granting the aid, and three months to justify the action from the expiration of the maximum period granted. for the execution of the actions.
With the use of this aid mechanism, progress is made in achieving the objectives of the Hydrogen Roadmap, as well as in the draft update of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), which provides for 11 gigawatts (GW ) of electrolysis by 2030.
