Date: October 18, 2024 Time: 14:34:32

This year, the Apple and Book Festival, one of the flagship cultural events of the Moscow region, will present more than 80 events at 15 venues in the historical part of the city. All of them will be united by the theme “The house that…”, influencing in one way or another family values and the fate of historical heritage, reviving half-forgotten traditions and tastes.

Most of the events are scheduled for September 2. But those who spend the night in Kolomna will be able to take a walk through the gardens on the morning of the 3rd with Dmitry Oinas, a historian of landscape architecture.

The festival’s literary program includes a large book market, open debates and meetings with writers. Publisher Elena Shubina, prose writer Bulat Khanov, poet and playwright Yegor Zaitsev will perform on the main stage on Zaitsev Square. Maya Kucherskaya will reveal the secrets of the “most underrated Russian classic” – Nikolai Leskov. Alexey Varlamov will share interesting facts from the life of Mikhail Prishvin, and Pavel Basinsky, a literary critic and regular contributor to RG, will talk about his work on the bestseller The True Story of Anna Karenina. At the presentation of the “No Queue” collection, it will be possible to talk about the memories of the “Soviet house” and how today’s youth see it. Competitions, games and workshops for children are organized. White Crow publishing house is preparing special events in honor of its tenth anniversary.

The highlight of the theatrical program promises to be “Pinezhsky Pushkin”. The performance is based on the text of Boris Shergin – a naive story about the life of the poet is written from the words of a real resident of the Russian North or skillfully stylized. It will be read by actress Tatyana Bondarenko and supplemented with songs by Sergey Starostin, the author’s folk luminary. Sergei Shadrin will present a short and lively storytelling “In short. Oblomov”, which will allow the public to update the perception of the novel, known to everyone at school.

On a small stage in Gagarin Square, the project “Houses close to home” will be presented, where children travel through an improvised city, draw on the walls and compose street melodies. In the open area of ”Rechport” – a documentary presentation based on the biography of Mikhail Bulgakov “Your novel was read”, based on the diaries of our compatriots from the portal “Prozhito.org”.

In addition, within the framework of the festival, the sound performance of the walker through Kolomna will be premiered: “The house that…”. After walking through the old city with headphones, the participants will engage in a leisurely dialogue with the outgoing nature.

– In the future, the walker will be available to residents of Kolomna and visitors to the city when they contact the hospitality center of the Navigator Museum. The exhibition at the Silk Factory, created with the participation of Artkommunalka residents, will also continue to run in September, – said Ekaterina Oinas, creative producer of the festival. – Our task is to come up with new creative products that can be used even after the end of the holidays, to go off the beaten path in the historical part of Kolomna. The main events will take place in the squares, where there are places for activities and just lying on the grass.

Music by Pavel Karmanov and old popular songs to say goodbye to summer, tango and rock arrangements, “Beastly Songs” for the little ones and underground from the local music festival “Kolomenskaya Bura” will be played at the festival venues.

In the pavilion of the museum “Artkommunalka. Erofeev and others” everyone will be able to take part in the collective embroidery of tablecloths and fantasize on the theme “the house of their dreams”. Iranian artist Mahbubeh Khosravi Haftari will show the illustrations she created in Kolomna for the book “Problems of Politeness”. Young readers will help in the editing work of Mahbub.

In the open food court, a special menu will be presented based on the recommendations of Russian classics and the principles of slow food. For example, a variant of the salad that Lermontov liked in the Caucasus (with caramelized Antonovka and black currant sauce) and an apple stuffed with veal and millet, “subtracted” from Karamzin. For dessert, they came up with a cheesecake with an apple filling, baked in the oven, and a broth, which was served in the hospice of the Kolomna merchant Shchukin. In the future, some festive dishes will complete the menu of the cafe near the Pastila Museum and the “Lazhechnikov” cafe in the Kremlin, where part of the menu still has a literary background.

You can also enjoy local specialities: honey, cheese, fish, vegetables, rolls, marshmallows and of course apples from Kolomna producers.

– We are planning an apple auction; we will sell the largest fruits at auction and the proceeds will support local gardeners – added the director of the festival, Daria Salmina.

At the presentation of the “Collection of Smart Products” you will learn about the forgotten vegetables and herbs that once formed the basis of the Russian garden. The publication included cheap and affordable ingredients that can diversify the diet of citizens and restaurant menus. Some are well known (barley, mustard seeds, beans), others are barely perceived today as something edible: for example, bird cherry, camelina and goat’s beard, rich in vitamins.

In addition, within the framework of the holiday, an “urban lunch” will be held in the courtyard of “Artkommunalka”, where memories of the inhabitants of Kolomna will be heard at the table, as well as a merchant’s party with fun and traditional delicacies. It will take visitors to the “House of the Suranovs”, a new tourist attraction on Posadskaya Street. In September it will already be possible to visit it with an interactive tour.

– This building was built in 1799, until 1938 the merchant family Suranov lived in it. Thanks to them, soap-making appeared in Kolomna and a candle factory worked. For the expansion of the marshmallow museum, which occupies a neighboring estate, the government of the Moscow region provided a memorial house. But here, as if from heaven, the descendants of the Suranovs appeared, who presented us with a wonderful memorial collection of furniture, documents and household items that once stood in their house on Posadskaya, 13. It became clear that there would be no marshmallows. Here, but there would be a place where the life of Kolomna and Russia in the 19th century could be told through the history of a particular family,” explained Natalia Nikitina, general director of ANO Kolomensky Posad.

The guests of the “House of Suranovs” will find themselves in 1890, a current year for the country and an important one for Kolomna. Then the first post office was opened in the city, the first steam locomotive of the legendary O series was put into operation… It will be possible to touch the story in the literal sense: sitting in an antique chair, trying on a cap or a hat. chamisette, leafing through a rare book. Three visit formats have been developed. Introverts will be able to glide through the house like a shadow, silently observing the lives of its inhabitants (“Out of the game”), sociable guests will be able to take a governess, a maid or a Batman as their guide (“In the game”). Well, the most desperate and rich will be able to taste the merchant’s life in the “Not a Game” format, which has no analogues in Russia. By storing the objects in the safe, the participants will put on historical costumes and will be transported during a day to a specific day of a certain year in the company of four servants.
