The fifth issue of U Magazine is now on sale. Its theme is “The Art of Living.” As part of the development of the theme, the editors wanted to understand how and in what way art comes into our lives.
The new issue talks about the upcoming Cosmoscow 2023 and its heroes, the main young art fair. The editors examined collaborations with artists in a variety of fields: fashion, beauty, urban planning. We also asked the brightest heroes of the fashion and art scene what it means to them to live next to art, how it changes their lives and their daily lives.
The heroine of the cover, Marusya Fomina, also spoke about her life in art and for the sake of it. Filming took place in the St. Petersburg Summer Garden. This fall, the actress can be seen in the play “Masquerade with Eyes Closed”, the premiere of which is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater.
“It seems that art, for all its ephemerality, brings some kind of certainty and, perhaps, even permanence to life, because that is what it was, is, and always will be. However, as the famous Soviet maverick artist Igor Vulokh said (we dedicate a separate project to him in this issue), “certainty is only what is felt at a given moment. A moment gives way to an instant. With each subsequent moment, “It vibrates in the very flow of life,” says U magazine editor-in-chief Jurate Gurauskaitė.
Actress Yulia Peresild, whose film “Challenge” is scheduled to be released in April, and comedian Andrei Beburishvili appeared on the covers of the third issue of U magazine. We talk in more detail here.
