“We are now carrying out further diagnostics, but preliminary information confirms that it is acute gastroenteritis. The condition of the patients is moderate and mild,” said the region’s Deputy Health Minister Oleg Melnikov.
The Ministry of Health, together with the regional Rospotrebnadzor, is conducting an epidemiological investigation into the emergency. They inspected the catering unit where food was prepared for the workers.
“To determine the origin and causes of the disease, specialists carried out a series of sanitary and anti-epidemic measures with sampling for laboratory research,” notes Rospotrebnadzor.
The prosecutor’s office is also investigating the situation.
