“The first day of the new year was marked for the Chechen Republic by the appearance of the new city of Oyskhara. The corresponding law, previously signed by me, comes into force today,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the head of the Chechen Republic, the Oyskharskoye urban settlement included the Verkhne-Noyberskoye, Nizhne-Noyberskoye and Oyskharskoye rural settlements. As a result, this settlement located in the Gudermes region received the status of a city, which “should undoubtedly have a positive impact on its future development and contribute to the growth of the well-being of local residents.”
Kadyrov promised to help develop the new city, attract investment to the Oyskhar urban agglomeration and create favorable conditions for business.
The head of the region congratulated local residents on this event and stated that “together we will make Oyskhar a new source of pride for our republic.”
By the way, after the transformation of Achkhoy-Martan into a city last year, the village of Oyskhara (historians first mentioned it in 1732), where about 20 thousand people lived, was the largest rural settlement in the republic.
