There are 16 stops planned on the route, four of them in the capital. Sobyanin noted that work at the Moscow site will have to be carried out in conditions of dense urban and suburban development without stopping the movement of trains on the Oktyabrskaya railway.
It is necessary to lay additional tracks from Leningradsky station to Alabushevo, erect six bridges and five railway overpasses, as well as complete the reconstruction of three overpasses. Modernize passenger infrastructure at Firsanovskaya, Skhodnya, Podrezkovo, Novopodrezkovo, Molzhaninovo, Khimki, Levoberezhnaya, Khovrino and Ostankino stations. They should be converted into new urban stations according to MCD standards.
Rebuild four future high-speed train stations: Leningradsky, Rizhskaya, Petrovsko-Razumovskaya and Zelenograd-Kryukovo stations. In total, it will be possible to transfer to 14 metro and MCD stations, as well as to all urban land transport.
Travel time between Moscow and St. Petersburg will be reduced almost by half – 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Furthermore, the launch of the highway will contribute to the development of tourism and business activity and the creation of new jobs. Environmentally friendly rail transport will reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere and reduce the number of accidents.
