From a purely external perspective, the laptop appears flawless. It passes the Macbook test perfectly: the lid opens with one hand without problems. The maximum opening angle is 180 degrees.
The metal of the case looks very expensive, the keyboard is large and full-sized, and the touchpad is very comfortable. I was surprised by the presence of a digital block, or rather how it was implemented. It is very modest in size and has a very small Enter button.

There is also a fingerprint scanner, it is built into the power key, it works very fast, there were no erroneous failures, which is usually the most annoying.

The screen of the Tecno Megabook T1 is a 15.6′ IPS matrix with FHD resolution and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The color gamut is 100% sRGB, the standard brightness level is 350 nits. DC Dimming and TÜV Eye Comfort certifications are announced, which, in my opinion, is purely a marketing strategy, but we believe in the best: you really don’t feel eye strain. On the top edge there is a 2 MP front camera.
Performance
The machine is powerful. Under the hood it has an Intel Core i-5-12450H processor (there is also an option for AMD Ryzen 7 5800U), the laptop has 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of data storage on an SSD drive. We can say that this filling is more than enough for office tasks. And heavy programs from Adobe and a number of other programs necessary for work, and a browser with fifty open tabs (we know how it happens), the Megabook T1 copes with all of the above without straining. In fact, even the best games with basic settings are quite capable, like Atomic Heart. I would especially like to note that during testing I could hear the noise of the cooling system a couple of times; This is also a plus for the balance of the laptop.
Communications
With a set of connectors everything is just as good. On the left side there are USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A and USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C for information transfer, an HDMI output and another USB Type C, designed to connect an external power source.

On the right side there is an adapter for micro-SD flash drives, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A and a 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones. The bandwidth of USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C is 10 Gbps. It supports Power Delivery technology and is compatible with the DisplayPort 1.4 standard. At the end there is also an option that surprises me: a system reset button. In wireless communications everything is basic: Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth.

Battery
Tecno Megabook T1 is equipped with a 70 Wh large capacity battery. The manufacturer claims up to 17.5 hours of run time and it sounds absolutely impressive. But it is clear that this is “in general.” When working offline, you can get up to 14 hours, when working with constant data exchange, the charge lasts about 9.5 hours. Both are, in principle, very worthy. I was especially pleased with the charger: it is very compact, no more than a smartphone charger, with a power of 65 W, thanks to the USB-C connector it can be used for the entire fleet of devices, while the laptop is on. extremely fast. It cannot be compared to epic chargers from other manufacturers, which often require a separate bag.
Sound
The laptop’s audio system includes two speakers and two microphones with support for an artificial intelligence-based noise reduction system. The sound is strong and rich. With bass, as always, it’s difficult, but that’s how it is everywhere.

Other
Something interesting: Tecno began to develop an ecosystem circuit. It is implemented based on the OneLeap function and provides wireless communication for the brand’s devices, in the same way that it works for Apple AirDrop, Huawei and Honor.

Tecno Megabook T1 is a solid update to the laptop lineup. New generation processors and preserving all the good that came before. Elegant design, good battery and vibrant screen. A special respect for the most compact possible charging: today this is exactly what makes a laptop truly mobile. A good choice among 15-inch devices.
