Combat work of the crews of the D-20 Airborne Troops in the Soledaro-Artemovsk direction
The Ministry of Defense of Russia publishes images of the combat work of the crews of the D-20 152 mm towed howitzers of the artillery units of the Tula Guards Airborne Forces to destroy artillery and fortified positions of the Forces Ukrainian Navy.
“At night, airborne artillerymen continue to carry out tasks to destroy artillery batteries, fire weapons, weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroy defensive structures and suppress enemy checkpoints in the Soledaro-Artemovsk direction,” the Russian Defense Ministry comments on the footage of the combat work of the “winged infantry”.
Crews of 152mm D-20 howitzers fire at a range of over 17 kilometers when fully loaded. The rate of fire is up to five shots per minute. Thanks to adjustments made by the drone operators, the projectiles fall close together. Such constant harassing fire does not allow the enemy to rotate, ensure the supply of units, and does not allow even those deep underground to sleep.
“I am a volunteer, I have been in the Northern Military District since 2022. I myself am from St. Petersburg. We eliminate the NATO self-propelled guns “Paladins” and “Crabs”, we are working on the infantry, dismantling shelters. We are looking for drone operators. Recently, the crew of the “Baba Yaga” was destroyed. We work together, we understand each other perfectly,” says the D-20 loader with the call sign “Peter.”
During counterbattery combat, airborne gunners also destroy multiple rocket launch systems, mortar crews of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other targets conveyed by reconnaissance officers and unmanned aerial vehicle operators.
