The updated list includes tennis players Pavel Kotov and Anna Kalinskaya. Previously, the IOC named 4 representatives each in men’s and women’s singles, but Karen Khachanov and Lyudmila Samsonova refused to compete in Paris. Kotov and Kalinskaya should replace them, but the latter has already refused.
Canoeists Alexey Korovashkov and Zakhar Petrov also received invitations to the Games. In addition, four judo representatives were on the list: Valery Endovitsky, Makhmadbek Makhmadbekov, Elis Startseva and Dali Liluashvili.
Athletes from Russia and Belarus will be able to compete at the Paris Olympics as neutral athletes without their countries’ flags and anthems. The final IOC invitation lists are announced after the athletes are evaluated according to several criteria.
