The qualifying round for participants of School 21 in Magadan has started at the Novosibirsk campus. The training was started by President and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank German Gref and Governor of the Magadan Region Sergey Nosov.

Successful participants will continue their basic education in the educational space of Magadan School 21 and participate in group projects with students from other school campuses, both online and offline. This training format was developed specifically for hard-to-reach and sparsely populated regions of the country, so that their residents can effectively develop in the field of information technology, acquire new knowledge, digital skills and a sought-after profession.

During the qualifying stage, participants will discover the field of digital technology, immerse themselves in the learning process, get acquainted with the peer-to-peer methodology, complete individual and group projects, write a game, learn the basics of the C programming language and acquire a wide range of useful “soft” skills.

– Magadan is a city that has changed a lot in recent years. It implements a large number of different projects at the all-Russian level. And one of them is the emergence of “School 21,” said German Gref. – The uniqueness of School 21 is that we can teach anywhere in Russia. And the training will be exactly the same in quality as in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Kazan or any other city. We are confident that the project will be successful. Obviously, the demand will be huge, because the industrial sector in Magadan is very developed. After all, today it is simply impossible to have a competitive company without using the most modern technologies.

This was confirmed by the Governor of the Magadan Region Sergey Nosov, who noted that the demand for IT specialists in Kolyma is very high.

He also recalled that the Magadan region is joining the Sber educational project on behalf of Vladimir Putin. He noted that now the residents of Kolyma will be able to receive free and high-level education in the field of information technologies.

– Very talented and unique people live here. The project should be decisive for the development of the digital industry in the region, and the Magadan school should be an attraction for all those who want to be in demand as highly qualified specialists, – said Sergey Nosov.

The “School 21” in Magadan is scheduled to open in the fall. You can study at any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During the training, which will last 1.5 to 3 years, participants will receive a popular digital profession free of charge and become qualified specialists. They will learn the programming languages C, C++, Java, C#, Python and Go, and acquire DevOps skills, working with databases and networks.
