Zelensky did not specify what exactly the “signals” were or which Western countries they came from.
At the same time, the Ukrainian politician said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to use “our own developments” to attack the Russian Federation if the West does not give permission to use its weapons.
Now Ukraine’s Western partners, including the United States, prohibit Kiev from launching attacks on Russian territory. This issue was discussed, in particular, at the NATO summit in Washington. After the meeting, Western media reported that the meeting with President Joe Biden brought only disappointment to Zelensky.
In turn, US President Donald Trump’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan said that the United States has no plans to review the restrictions imposed on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in terms of weapons.
The Kremlin noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are already launching strikes with long-range Western weapons on Russian territory, as the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions are part of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, stressed that Moscow sees both the statements of countries that “no longer see any restrictions” and the positions of states that “are still trying to maintain some kind of balance.”
