A Voepass Linhas Aereas ATR-72 turboprop crashed in the state of Sao Paulo, in southeastern Brazil. There were 58 passengers and 4 crew members on board.
The media reports that special services and military police are working at the scene of the accident.
The plane was heading from Cascavel, in the state of Paraná, to Guarulhos, in the state of Sao Paulo. The plane crashed in one of the residential areas of the city of Vinhedo, no one was injured on the ground.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva called for a minute of silence during a live televised speech.
