It was established that an argument had taken place in one of the school’s bathrooms the day before. One of the participants in the conflict seriously injured another student with a firearm.
A 15-year-old boy was injured. He was taken by helicopter to a medical centre, where he died.
According to Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler, the 16-year-old suspect left the school after the incident and attempted to escape, but was quickly apprehended.
An investigation into the incident has been launched. No information has been provided on the reasons for the conflict between the schoolchildren.
