HBO has launched a casting call for children from the UK and Ireland who will play the main roles in the new Harry Potter series. The studio is looking for candidates between the ages of 9 and 11 who can embody the characters of Harry, Ron and Hermione. Deadline writes about this.
Actors must be selected by April 2025. Each candidate must provide two videos in their native accent. In the first one, they will have to read a story or poem, and in the second one, they will have to talk about themselves.
The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television. It is also led by JK Rowling’s Brontë Film and TV project.
It was previously reported that seven audiobooks based on Harry Potter would be released with the participation of more than 100 actors. The play is set to premiere at the end of 2025. We discuss it in more detail here.
