Alikhanov said that flight tests of the fully imported MS-21 with the PD-14 engine could begin this year.
According to the minister, MC-21 flights with incomplete import substitution are already underway. At the same time, he clarified that by the start of tests with a domestic engine, all onboard systems of the aircraft should already be Russian.
MS-21 is a narrow-body, medium-range aircraft. The planned capacity is up to 211 passengers, the maximum flight range is 5,100 km and the maximum payload is 21,300 kg.
The imported version of the aircraft is equipped with domestic PD-14 engines, which were installed instead of the American PW1400G. It will also replace 36 systems, including the auxiliary power unit, hydraulic and fuel systems, 33 of which are currently undergoing testing.
