The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Antalya confirmed to KP.RU the information about the incident of a Russian citizen who left her newborn child in the airport bathroom.
Earlier, Turkish media reported that a baby was found while cleaning a disabled toilet at Antalya International Airport. Police arriving at the scene discovered that he had been abandoned by a Russian citizen. After this, the lady went to the check-in counter with the intention of flying out of Türkiye. The woman and her companion were arrested and the baby was sent to the hospital.
“The information provided is confirmed. The Consulate General of Russia in Antalya is in contact with the mother of the newborn, who is in a local hospital, and will provide the Russians with the necessary consular assistance,” our diplomats told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
