Paraglider Alex Lang least expected a scene like this. While flying over the monuments of Giza, he noticed a dog that had climbed to the top of the pyramid of Cheops. The height of the structure is 139 meters.
The animal caught Alex Lang’s attention because it was barking at passing birds. The paraglider couldn’t believe his eyes, he zoomed in on the top of the camera: there really was a dog in the place.
The video, posted on social media, received more than 590 thousand likes. It was republished by famous extreme athletes.
“This is not a dog. This is the Egyptian god Anubis. He is considered the guide of the dead to the afterlife and the protector of the tombs. That’s why he’s at the top of the pyramid,” joked a commentator on the social network.
“I wonder how long it took him to get there,” others wondered.
It is unknown if the dog managed to fall alive and unharmed. Furthermore, no one can understand how he climbed to the top of the pyramid and how long he stayed there.
It is prohibited to climb the Great Pyramid of Giza, like any of the 118 Egyptian pyramids. Many tourists paraglide to admire the ancient structures. Dogs are usually rare in these areas.
