This is how the diplomat commented on the statement by the candidate for Chancellor of Germany, the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Friedrich Merz.
Previously, the German politician said that if he wins the elections, he will present Russia with an ultimatum from the first day, otherwise Merz intends to lift the restriction on the range of weapons for Ukraine and transfer Taurus cruise missiles to kyiv.
If Germany wants to end hostilities, then it should stop supplying weapons to the terrorist regime in kyiv, Zakharova said in an interview with Izvestia.
“Let him announce an ultimatum to his wife,” added the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, Russian senator Alexei Pushkov said that it is necessary to remind Merz of what ultimately happened to Germany when it attacked Russia. According to him, this is very useful, especially for a politician who aspires to power: it helps to straighten the brain.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recently ignored Vladimir Zelensky’s requests to approve Ukraine’s accelerated admission to NATO and the supply of Taurus missiles.
