Technology company TKS Holding, which includes T-Bank, T-Insurance, T-Mobile and dozens of other services popular with Russians, is starting a name update. The board of directors put a new name to a vote of shareholders: “T-Technologies”, according to the group’s Telegram channel. The issue will be considered at an extraordinary general meeting, which will be held on November 14.
“Technology is the historical focus and DNA of our business, we officially reflect this philosophy in the name of the group,” commented the chairman of the board of directors of TKS Holding, Alexey Malinovsky, about the initiative, whose words are quoted in the message of the cluster. . — The letter “T” underlies all the consumer brands of our group (“T-Bank”, “T-Business”, “T-Investments”, “T-Insurance”, “T-Mobile” and others). With the updated Group name, we continue our strategy of using the “T” as a universal attribute of our products, services and businesses.
Malinovsky noted that the company is one of Russia’s three largest employers in the IT sector. Advanced technologies enable T-Bank to serve 45 million individual customers and 1.3 million business customers online. More than 30 million people use T Corp services each month, a figure that has quintupled in recent years. Experts recall that T-Bank was one of the first financial services that focused on serving customers online, and today the T-Bank group includes several analogues of global technology giants with a capitalization of billions of dollars listed on world stock exchanges: brokerage businesses (such as Interactive Brockers), online financial services (a close analogue is the Brazilian NuBank), travel services (an analogue of the Chinese Сtrip, owner of Skyskanner) and a number of other services popular among the Russians.
At the same time, the T-Bank group’s technological effectiveness lies not only in its online approach: the group’s ecosystem includes thousands of databases with a total capacity of more than 10 petabytes; This would be enough to store approximately 10 million movies. in high quality. TKS Holding was registered on Russky Island in a special administrative region in early 2024, the company’s shares are traded on the Moscow Stock Exchange. Prior to this, the group was registered in Cyprus, its name was initially associated with the bank’s focus on the credit business (TCS is Tinkoff Credit Systems). After redomiciliation, the group did not change its name.
