On October 21, the first individual exhibition of the artist Truue, “Hidden Description”, will open in the space of the creative association 10.203. The author will present 15 works, each of which will be shown in pairs with a blank canvas: a hidden explanation from the author. The project is supervised by Maxim Ima, artist of the 10.203 association.
The “white sheet” is not a symbol of the beginning or emptiness, but hides behind it a ready-made interpretation of the author. The canvas cut along the stretcher line is just a curtain, when you lift it you can read the explanation. Or there is no need to read: guests have the right to choose not to familiarize themselves with the interpretations of the artist and curator and remain with their own opinion. The exhibition is organized by the international gallery Inloco Open Storage, which represents Truue and Maxim Ima. “Hidden Description” will be open until November 4, admission is free.
Truue is a street wave artist, member of the NOWE team. Lives and works in Veliky Novgorod. The main characters in Truue’s work are animals, whose character gives a powerful boost to the diversity of myth-making. The artist’s special pictorial style confronts the viewer with an ironic expression, reminiscent of classic street works.
“I am very interested in independent and efficient authors. Truue, despite the lack of exhibition spaces and artistic community in Veliky Novgorod, is very fruitful in its creativity. When I saw his work for the first time, I immediately appreciated the combination of technique and idea,” shared Maxim Ima, curator of the project.
