“The formation of new development centers is the most important signal. And this development, according to the experts whom I trust very much and whose opinions I listen to, will objectively occur mainly in the BRICS member countries. First of all, this is Southeast Asia, this is Africa,” Putin said at a meeting with media representatives of the BRICS countries.
According to him, positive growth will occur in countries such as China, India, Russia and Saudi Arabia. “But the countries of Southeast Asia and Africa will demonstrate faster growth,” the Russian leader added.
He noted that those countries in which positive but moderate dynamics are expected have already reached a certain level of development. And in countries with rapid growth there is still an insufficient level of urbanization and a high rate of population growth.
“These two factors will undoubtedly influence the formation of new centers of economic growth, and behind them, the development of political influence,” the Russian President emphasized.
As for China, India, Brazil and South Africa, the growth of the economic potential of these countries will be accompanied by the growth of their influence in the world, Vladimir Putin said.
