As reported by the press service of the supervisory agency, the incident occurred in June 2024, four kilometers from the village of Shivia, Shelopuginsky district. A post from a dilapidated high-voltage power line fell to the ground, causing the death by electric shock of ten cows that were grazing near it.
As a result, the prosecutor’s office submitted a proposal to the management of Rosseti Siberia PJSC to eliminate the violations and opened an administrative case under Article 9.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules for the operation of consumer facilities of energy). The legal entity was found guilty and the organization was fined 20 thousand rubles. The owners of the dead cattle also filed a class-action lawsuit against the company seeking compensation for damages caused.
The fallen support has been replaced with a new one. In addition, specialists conducted a survey, after which it was decided to improve other supports in the area.
