Explosion from Gas Leak in Narayanganj Leaves Seven Workers Burned

In a tragic incident, a gas leak led to an explosion in Kanchpur, Narayanganj, late on Monday night (November 11). The explosion occurred around 11 PM in front of the Sonapur Lovely Cinema Hall, where workers were engaged in road repair work.

Eyewitness Rubel reported that the workers were installing a water pipeline when the explosion took place. While they were welding, a leak from a nearby gas main ignited, resulting in an explosion that burned seven workers.

Among the injured, two workers are reported to be out of danger, while the remaining five have been admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in critical condition, according to medical officials.

Fire service personnel responded promptly to the scene, ensuring the area was secured and safe. Local authorities have dispatched a team to investigate the cause of the incident, amidst growing concerns from the community regarding safety measures.

This devastating incident serves as a stark reminder of the precarious conditions faced by workers in the region. There are increasing calls for enhanced safety protocols to protect laborers from such accidents in the future.
