An incident in Ohio that is more like a prank occurred: a chubby French bulldog started a fire in the kitchen. The dog’s owner, Chris DiLuzio, was at work when he received a call informing him that there was a fire in the house. The American suggested that the culprit of the emergency was some intruder who broke in. But the CCTV images left Chris disheartened.
“If this hadn’t been caught on camera, no one would have believed me,” says the American.
The footage shows a black bulldog named Harvey sitting on a chair, reaching for a pot of food on the stove. The second dog watches from the floor.
Harvey apparently flipped the burner switch, causing it to catch fire and oil to pour out of the pan. The kitchen quickly filled with smoke and the stove became engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were able to save Harvey and his four-legged brother. Now the DiLuzio family, with six children, is at risk of being homeless for six months while renovations are carried out to restore the kitchen.

IT IS NOT THE FIRST CASE
A similar story occurred in Colorado. Early in the morning, the family dog decided to explore what his owners left on the stove. He stood on his hind legs and accidentally turned on the burners with his front paws. The fire was quickly extinguished thanks to the activation of the alarm. In Texas, a curious Labrador named Twitch almost left an entire family homeless during the Christmas holidays using the same scheme.
And in Oklahoma, a fire broke out because of a phone battery, or rather, a dog that bit into it. A surveillance camera recorded how the guard dog, lying on a mattress, was chewing on a battery. It began to glow, and the sparks set the mattress on fire. The fire quickly consumed the sofas in the living room and then the entire house. Fortunately, no one was hurt; the neighbors of the house and their pets (two dogs and a cat) managed to escape.
