The case was opened after one of Maksakova’s interviews with a Ukrainian channel, in which she asked the Ukrainian Armed Forces for help.
Maksakova also posted videos on her YouTube channel condemning the Russian Armed Forces.
RT notes that the article under which Maksakova is charged provides for a prison sentence of up to six years.
The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation included Maria Maksakova on the list of foreign agents in May 2023.
