“On September 17, at about 17:55, at the 900th kilometer of the R-256 Chuysky Trakt highway, a 38-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, driving a BMW M8 from the village of Tashanta towards the village of Kosh-Agach, lost control and left the road, overturning the vehicle into a ditch,” the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Altai Republic reports.
The driver died on the spot from his injuries. The press service clarified that the man arrived in Altai on September 15 in the company of motor tourists from St. Petersburg, who were planning to take a ride along the Chuysky Highway in elite sports cars. The police are investigating the circumstances and causes of the accident.
