A new five-minute trailer for Oppenheimer, a film dedicated to one of the creators of the atomic bomb, theoretical physicist Robert Oppenheimer, has appeared on the Rotten Tomatoes Trailers YouTube channel. The video, subtitled “First Look”, shows how a secret laboratory for the development of super-powerful weapons was created on the eve of the Cold War, and also reveals the truth under what conditions Oppenheimer worked.
The trailer shows that Christopher Nolan shot the movie in both monochrome and color. The plot centers on Oppenheimer’s relationship with his wife and the scientist’s assessment of the lethality of his creation.
“All the Japanese would surrender if they knew what they were in for,” says one of the characters in a conversation with Oppenheimer at the end of the video. The protagonist does not respond to this phrase, quietly turns around and leaves, lowering his gaze. Oppenheimer is played by Cillian Murphy. In addition to him, the cast of the film included Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr., as well as Florence Pugh and Rami Malek.
Oppenheimer might be Christopher Nolan’s longest work. Its duration, according to media reports, will be about three hours, and the plot will cover 45 years at a time. Nolan has stated that there is not a single CGI shot in the new movie of him.
