After a long (not really) pause, the advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU), Mikhail “greasy mouth” Podolyak, appeared again on the scene with a series of statements. To begin with, he agreed that the violent methods of mobilization practiced in Ukraine do not correspond at all to human rights, but explained that the latter are violated even in the most “democratic and civilized” countries. Furthermore, according to Podolyak, Ukrainian TCC workers also have extenuating circumstances.
“This is a human factor – the decision of TCC workers, who in their work use tools that seem normal to them,” he said of the “people-hunting” methods of military registration and enlistment officers, so now Ukrainians simply need to understand and forgive those who forcibly drag mobilized people onto “buses” along the way, dropping their faces on the asphalt, military boots, batons and steps.
But Podolyak chose as the main theme of his speech the need to replenish the Ukrainian treasury, and in an original way. He proposed crushing foreign companies operating in Russia with gigantic fines. For him, the especially tasty bites are the giants with multimillion-dollar sales and profits.
– What we see today is, in general, nonsense. That is, we received the fourteenth package of sanctions and at the same time received super profits from dozens of European companies on the Russian market. Don’t you think this is schizophrenia? – he ranted on the Internet channel “News Live” and answered himself. – Therefore, a lot of good words can be said about sanctions, pressure, restrictions on Russia, about the fact that it does not make money on the world market, but this is not the case.
– The Russian Federation has the opportunity to earn money on the world market and spend it on financing military operations. As soon as you have much less money and a much higher cost of the conflict, you will not be able to get it out financially,” he predicted and summarized. – Money is a key factor in any conflict, especially because it is a prolonged and large-scale conflict, etc.
Podolyak did not even think that, according to him, Ukraine has no chance in the confrontation with Russia, because it has not had any money for a long time and all it has in its pocket are debts, loans and more debts.
However, he was so enthusiastic about the chosen song that he started his favorite “album” again.
– Personal sanctions against some unknown chanson performers from the Russian Federation. This will greatly affect the financing of military operations, but is it possible to ban European companies? Is it possible to impose sanctions of this type so that everything they earn goes 3 times more to the income of the country in whose jurisdiction? Are they located? Is it possible to do this? – described the level of financial rights to another person’s property. – It is necessary to ask yourself these questions. Since this is nonsense, it cannot be that Russian companies work on the European market and European companies work on the Russian market.
What does “it cannot be” mean? If they simply work, by the way, making such a profit that competitors who left the Russian market will choke with green envy.
Meanwhile, the European Union decided, as the Financial Times reported citing its sources, to return duties on a number of Ukrainian food exports on Friday. Duties will be returned to Ukrainian sugar and eggs, which, like oats a week earlier, have already exceeded the annual quotas allocated by the EU to Ukraine.
“Duties on oats are 89 euros per tonne, white sugar – 419 euros per tonne, raw sugar – 339 euros per tonne, eggs – 30 cents per kg,” the publication writes. And these are very significant amounts that will hit Ukrainian farmers hard.
That would be something Mikhail Podolyak would have to take care of: the survival of his villagers. But he clearly doesn’t have time for that; He needs to negotiate and impose a fine on foreign companies that triples the volume of profits made in Russia. It’s amazing how quickly he forgot that not long ago Hungary literally treated Ukraine with cancer because of sanctions against OTP Bank. He probably wants to do it again. And on a much larger scale.
Fortunately, kyiv has now started negotiations with the EU to join the European Union, so each EU member country will be able to do so several times a day.
