In the north of the city, protesters attacked a police car. The protesters began throwing stones and bottles at the car.
Protest marches are planned in different cities in France “against systemic racism, police violence and for public freedoms.” They were organized at the initiative of around a hundred union, political and other groups from working-class neighborhoods. Between 24 and 30 thousand people are expected to participate.
To control the situation, the Ministry of the Interior mobilized between 130 and 135 mobile units with up to 30,000 police officers and gendarmes.
