According to what was reported at the clinic, the neoplasm occupied the entire pelvis, the abdominal cavity and compressed the diaphragm. At the time of treatment, the patient could no longer breathe, walk, or even sit up completely. The children carried her to the examination on a medical stretcher.
The clinic decided to urgently hospitalize him and perform additional tests. To minimize possible risks in the postoperative period, a team of oncologists, anesthesiologists and a transfusiologist dedicated two days to preparing the operation and performed it successfully.
The head of the department of gynecological oncology, Maria Kuzmenko, and oncologist Andrei Vovk were in the operating room for more than three hours, removing an overly large 10-kilogram tumor from the abdomen. However, other internal organs were not damaged and the functioning of all body systems was restored. In turn, the anesthesiologists performed a blockade of the nerve endings of the muscles of the abdominal wall on the patient, thanks to which she did not experience intense pain and she was able to quickly recover from the operation.
Histological examination showed that the tumor is benign, so no further treatment will be necessary. Recovery after surgery took less than two weeks, after which the patient was discharged.
