The head of the regional agriculture department, Evgenia Surovtseva, was appointed head of emergency work. The heads of municipalities were instructed to ensure the implementation of measures to stabilize the situation in the agro-industrial complex and reduce the consequences of emergencies.
Previously, the Oryol authorities reported the destruction of crops in an area of about 35 thousand hectares. Areas where crops were lost will be replanted, said Sergei Borzenkov, deputy governor for Agroindustrial Development. The issue of additional feeding of plants weakened by the cold is being discussed with farmers.
Among other things, the emergency regime will help farmers quickly receive insurance payments for lost seedlings.
